When multiple engineers are working concurrently on the same project, coordinating disruptive actions can be challenging. Currently, if a developer needs to restart the Gateway, update a core script, or ask someone to release a lock on a resource, they must rely on external communication tools. If another developer misses that external message, they might experience unexpected disconnections or lose unsaved work.

The Solution:

Implement a native communication feature directly within the Ignition Designer UI.

Global Broadcasts: The ability for an administrator or developer to push a banner or pop-up warning to all active Designer sessions connected to the Gateway (e.g., "Gateway restarting in 5 minutes. Please save your work!").

Direct Pings: A simple way to message a specific user shown in the "Active Sessions" or concurrent editors list.

The Value:

Similar features exist in other industrial platforms and they are incredibly useful for team coordination. Adding this native capability to Ignition would significantly improve the quality of life and workflow safety for teams managing large-scale, multi-developer deployments.
