Perspective: Automatically pass url parameters not only to main view but also to docked views. This would help generating, for example, parametric Navigation menus

I might be misunderstanding your request, but you can already pass parameters to docked views via nav menus

simon.beeching: Dear Simon, I will try to explain better my request. I know that it is possible to pass parameter to Docked views by setting them up in the nav menu, but those parameters need to be fixed (I mean: I have to manually write them down). What happens in my case is that i have a parametric main view (let's say I have a parameter of the current device, with the url /devices/:device_name) and the same parameter must be passed also to the docked view. AFAIK there's no way to bind :device_name to the parameter of the docked view.

Paolo Branchi: You could always bind a session property to this device_name parameter, and then bind a custom property of the Docked View to the session property.
