I don't use the standard headers for this reason: they're uncustomisable in look and feel, and I don't particularly like the colour and style of them. I always turn these off and use scripting to allow click and drag. Assuming vision here. I'd probably still turn these off even if they were customisable, as there are only so many options they could make built-in. If these still didn't suit, you'd still be stuck.
