Raspberry Pi as Client Setup Documented

I would love to use the raspberry pi for all of the projects I develop as the Ignition client to control each of our production machines. I know it can kind of already be done but it is very 'janky' to setup. I would love a section in the manual that is maintained for how to set these up for this purpose.

Can I get some clarification on this request? If you're using the PI as a client, then it needs a GUI. If you have a GUI installed on the device, then launching a client works like it does on a desktop: either use the Vision Client Launcher, or get a web browser and launch a perspective session.
What 'janky' setup are you referring to?

pscott: namely that Raspbian OS is 32-bit which has issues as of Ignition V8+

Dion Botha: In that case, we're unlikely to move on this. It's a great idea, but 32-bit Vision Client support has been deprecated in version 8 (which, it sounds, are the issues you ran into issues).
We have a KB article that discusses 32-bit Vision Client solutions for folks that absolutely need it, but it's it's not something that's actively supported. The link if you're curious: https://support.inductiveautomation.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/127/0/ignition-8-32-bit-vision-clients
I'm going to close this for now, but I'll make an note about it if we ever offer better 32-bit client support for Vision in the future.
