Search / Filter tags in OPC Tag Browser

Add a basic search box to the OPC tag browser so that it is faster to find a tag. On PLCs with thousands of tags it is difficult to browse into specific folders to find the correct tags, and the tree view will collapse every time the window is refreshed which also adds difficulty. Something similar to the tag search feature in RSLogix 5000.

Search/filter in the OPC Browser (not the Tag Browser) is not possible to implement. There is no corresponding OPC UA service that could be used to make this happen. The only option would be fully and recursively browsing the OPC server and indexing the results.

Please give the option to have an 'ANY' in all of the fields. We have multiple scan classes that I have to search each class individually.

mschepac: I think you're talking about the general Ignition Tag Browser, not the OPC Browser this post is about.

Aside from maybe a filter that works on the currently selected folder in the OPC Browser this isn't otherwise feasible.

tag filtering feature for tag browser is crucial for gateway with a lot of tags. Besides that, since alarming is one of the important element for SCADA system, it should have a feature to filter tags that has the alarming enabled regardless of tag types. Until today we have difficulties to get all the alarm tags.

This is a much desired feature. I use it extensive in Lgx. Also need ability to do wild card filtering. Lgx does it nicely with a space between partial strings.

I'm really glad this is being considered. Also, whilst looking into this if you could make it so the opc browser tree retains its previous state when re-opened, that would help considerably as well.
